We at ELF do aknowledge and understand the constraints experienced by working professionals when it comes to learning a new language. Lack of time to practice, personal obligations, work overload e.t.c are some of the various hinderances given by working individuals as the reason for giving up on a new language.
At ELF, english classes are supplemented with workshops or seminars. These workshops or seminars are run by ELF employees as a platform for all students to come and to put into practice what has been done in class. This allows ELF to gauge the progress made by the students and what improvements, if any, need to be implemented to improve the quality of the classes.
As the heading suggests, the individual in question is sent to an English speaking country for a period of up to a month. During this period, there will be pre-arranged activities organized by ELF to both improve interaction and language skills and also to learn about local culture through language. The duration and locale of such ‘immersions’ shall be subject to both ELF and client recommendations.
Some students find it hard to keep up with classes and as such ELF does create provisions for such students. The individuals teacher, ELF management and the client will work out details on how to help the individual catch up.
We strongly believe that the following proposed activities and methods are the best way to learn a language.
This is a specific program designed to specific for each individual or group and they won’t be the same. The goal of tailor training is to amplify what the teachers at ELF think are a students weak areas. This is done once the results of the proficiency test are gotten and an action plan is created.
ELF has forged partnerships with other language centres right across the world. These partnerships in cities like, Miami, Cape Town, etc where our students get to go for “immersion”. Under these partnerships, our students can get the same outstanding level of teaching and at the same time experience new cultures all while learning.
Before the start of language classes, ELF usually hands out short quizzes to determine an individuals proficiency level and where to classify them. Once classified, students in the same category will be assigned a teacher who will then decide which course of action he or she should take.
